Statement of Faith

We believe theological clarity is the heartbeat of a faithful community of believers. Clear theological guardrails should deepen our devotion and affection for the Lord. We recognize that this is not an exhaustive list of theological positions, rather an affirmation of what is essential for God’s people.

The Gathering joyfully affirms the historic Christian faith as revealed in the Holy Scriptures of the Old and New Testaments and summarized in the great creeds of the Church. Our theology is rooted in the gospel of Jesus, shaped by the whole counsel of Scripture, and aligned with the spirit and substance of the Lausanne Covenant.

Scripture

We believe the Holy Scriptures are the inspired, authoritative, and trustworthy Word of God, revealing God’s character, redemptive purposes, and will for His people. Scripture is fully sufficient to guide faith, life, and mission.

Deuteronomy 8:3; Psalm 19:7–11; Psalm 119:105; Isaiah 40:8; Matthew 5:17–18; John 17:17; Acts 20:27; 2 Timothy 3:16–17; Hebrews 4:12; 2 Peter 1:20–21

God

We believe in one God, eternally existing in three persons—Father, Son, and Holy Spirit—who is holy, loving, sovereign, and faithful. God created all things for His glory and sustains them by His power.

Genesis 1:1–3; Deuteronomy 6:4; Isaiah 6:1–3; Isaiah 45:5–7; Matthew 28:19; John 1:1–3; John 14:16–17; 2 Corinthians 13:14; Colossians 1:16–17; Revelation 4:11

Humanity

We believe humanity was created in the image of God to know Him, love Him, and reflect His character. Through sin, humanity is fallen, alienated from God, and unable to restore itself apart from divine grace.

Genesis 1:26–27; Genesis 3:1–19; Psalm 8:4–6; Jeremiah 17:9; Romans 3:10–23; Romans 5:12; Ephesians 2:1–3; Colossians 1:21

Jesus Christ

We believe Jesus Christ is fully God and fully human, the eternal Son of God who became flesh. Through His sinless life, sacrificial death, bodily resurrection, and exaltation, He accomplished salvation and inaugurated the Kingdom of God.

Isaiah 9:6–7; Isaiah 53:4–6; Matthew 1:23; Mark 1:14–15; John 1:14; John 20:28; Romans 5:6–11; Philippians 2:5–11; Colossians 2:9; 1 Corinthians 15:3–8; Hebrews 1:1–3

Salvation

We believe salvation is by grace, through faith in Christ alone. All who repent and trust in Jesus are justified, adopted into God’s family, and empowered for new life by the Holy Spirit.

Ezekiel 36:25–27; John 3:3–8; John 5:24; Acts 4:12; Romans 3:24–28; Romans 8:1–17; Galatians 2:16; Ephesians 2:4–10; Titus 3:4–7; 1 Peter 1:3–5

The Holy Spirit

We believe the Holy Spirit convicts the world of sin, regenerates the believer, indwells God’s people, and forms them into the likeness of Christ. The Spirit empowers the Church for holy living and faithful witness.

Joel 2:28–29; John 14:26; John 16:8–14; Acts 1:8; Acts 2:1–4; Romans 8:9–14; 1 Corinthians 12:4–11; 2 Corinthians 3:17–18; Galatians 5:22–25

The Church

We believe the Church is the body of Christ, called together by God and sent into the world. The Church exists to worship God, make disciples, proclaim the gospel, pursue justice and mercy, and bear witness to the Kingdom of God in word and deed.

Matthew 16:18; Matthew 28:18–20; Acts 2:42–47; Acts 20:28; 1 Corinthians 12:12–27; Ephesians 2:19–22; Ephesians 4:11–16; 1 Peter 2:9–12; Revelation 7:9–12

Mission

We believe God is a sending God, and the Church participates in His mission to reconcile all things to Himself in Christ. Evangelism and discipleship are inseparable, flowing from love for God and neighbor.

Genesis 12:1–3; Psalm 67; Isaiah 49:6; Matthew 9:36–38; Luke 4:18–19; John 20:21; 2 Corinthians 5:18–20; Colossians 1:19–23

The Kingdom and the Future

We believe Jesus will return to judge the living and the dead, to renew creation, and to bring His Kingdom to full consummation. Until that day, the Church lives in hope, faithfulness, and expectation.

Daniel 7:13–14; Matthew 24:30–31; Romans 8:18–25; 1 Corinthians 15:20–28; Philippians 3:20–21; 1 Thessalonians 4:16–18; 2 Peter 3:11–13; Revelation 21:1–5; Revelation 22:1–5
